Jermaine Spence

Jermaine Spence returned to his alma mater in 2009 as a part-time assistant coach for the track and field program under Alan Collatz. He will remain on the staff under new head coach Marcia Mansur-Wentworth.

Between 1999–2003, Spence was a standout hurdler for the Roadrunners. He still holds the No. 7 spot on CSUB's 110 meter hurdles all-time performance list with a time of 14.34. He also ran the 11th fastest 400 meter hurdle time in school history. In 2002, he won the CCAA individual title in the 400 hurdles with a time of 53.64. He was the runner–up in the 110 hurdles that year as well.

Spence has served as the head coach of the Bakersfield Greyhound Track Club for the past three seasons. He has taken athletes to the AAU Junior Olympic National Championship and the USA Track and Field National Championship each season. Spence also served as the assistant coach at Bakersfield North High School in 2008.
