2018 (SENIOR): Focused on javelin only...competed in eight meets with the Roadrunners...earned a first-place victory Mar. 3...posted seven top 10 finishes throughout the season...threw season-best 191-00 at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

2017 (JUNIOR): Competed in 110m hurdles and high jump…posted personal-best (14.91) in 110m hurdles, 18th all-time on program depth chart…earned three first-place victories in javelin...Posted new personal record in javelin (191-01), 11th all-time on program depth chart…earned second team All-Conference in javelin at WAC Outdoor Championships.
 
2016 (SOPHOMORE): Competed in javelin and high jump…posted season-best 6-02 in high jump…threw the distance of 168-10 in javelin debut…finished season with personal-best mark of 180-00 in javelin…earned second team All-Conference nod with fifth place javelin finish at WAC Outdoor Championships.
 
2015 (FRESHMAN): Was a multi-event competitor for the ‘Runners…had a personal-best time of 15.60 in 110m hurdles…cleared a personal-best 6-03.25 in high jump…finished fifth in the decathlon at WAC Outdoor Championships...earned second team All-Conference honors…totaled 5106 points, fifth all-time, in the decathlon…posted a season-best mark of 10-10 in pole vault…recorded distance of 21-01.25 in long jump.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Stockdale High School...coached by Dave Lonsinger…was a sprinter and hurdler for the Mustangs…named first team All-League, second team All-Area, and Most Improved Player in 2014…earned second team All-League and All-Area as a junior…finished prep career in Top 5 all-time in 110m hurdles (14.70)…part of the second-fastest 4x100m relay team for SHS (42.76)…SWYL Champions (2011-13)...also played soccer and football at Stockdale. PERSONAL: Born on July 11, 1996…son of Brian and Lori Benavides…graduated in May of 2018 with a Kinesiology degree.
