Sam Duran

Sam Duran joined the CSU Bakersfield softball coaching staff in fall of 2016. Duran is the Graduate Assistant Coach and works with the Roadrunner infielders. She is working on earning her master’s of public administration.

The Roadrunners went 12-33 during the 2017 season and 6-38 in 2018 while CSUB saw a pair of student-athletes earn All-Conference honors in each of the two seasons.

Duran is a 2015 graduate of UCLA where she played in 145 games and scored 51 runs for the Bruins. She was a member of UCLA squads that went to NCAA Division I Regionals during each of her four seasons. Duran and the Bruins also travelled to the Super Regionals in 2014 and the Women’s College World Series in 2015. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in political science.

A native of Whittier, Calif., Duran graduated from California High School in 2011. During her prep career, Duran was named All-Rio League each season and league co-MVP as a senior. A three-time All-Area honoree, Duran helped the CHS Condors to back-to-back undefeated league titles during her sophomore and junior seasons. She batted .351 over her prep career with a .443 on-base percentage while tallying 126 hits and 43 RBI.
