Nisa Ontiveros enters her second season as an assistant coach for the CSU Bakersfield softball team in fall of 2019.

In her first year with the Roadrunners, Ontiveros helped CSUB double its win percentage from the year before with a 12-33 in 2019. As the `Runner pitching coach, she helped Bakersfield's pitching staff lower its ERA from 5.39 in 2018 to 4.65 in 2019.

Ontiveros returned to Bakersfield, her hometown, to coach the Roadrunners. The former pitcher was a 2013 graduate of Ridgeview High School and a standout prep athlete on her way to an excellent career at UC Berkeley. After shaking off injuries early in her collegiate career, Ontiveros concluded her time at Cal with an outstanding senior season in which she went 18-8 with a 2.05 ERA (best in the Pac-12) and 189 strikeouts. For her efforts, Ontiveros was named to the NFCA All-America Third Team in 2016.

After graduation, Ontiveros traveled to Italy to play professionally during the summer of 2017. She returned to Southern California and was a pitching coach for the past year before deciding to return home.
