Biography

2018-19 (SOPHOMORE): Competed in the 200 free at the WAC Championships and set a new career-best (1:44.43)...had five top-five finishes on the year...also competed in the 1,000 free and 1,650 free. 

2017-18 (FRESHMAN): Competed in the 200 free and 1650 free at WAC Championships...set personal record of 1:46.23 in the 200 free at WAC...set career-best times in the 1650 free (16:17.44) and 500 free (4:41.76) in a dual meet against UC Santa Cruz...earned first career victory against UC Santa Cruz in the 500 free. 
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of Independence High School...coached by Katie Hughes…earned Team MVP all four years and was Division 2 Valley Champion…was League Champion in 200 free and 500 free from 2015-17…graduated with 4.0 GPA…also swam for Bakersfield Aquatics Club from 2011-15 and Roadrunner Aquatics from 2015-17.
 
PERSONAL: Born Sept. 16, 1999...son of Greg and Jenny Suburu...kinesiology major.
