Biography
2024-25 (JUNIOR): Focused mainly on the 200 fly and individual medley events… Placed Top 5 In four dual meets events…Earned B-final appearance in the 200 fly at the Big West Championships, placing 16th overall… Swam a personal best 200 fly time (1:57.09) at the conference championship meet… Celebrated season bests in the 200 IM (1:56.52) and the 400 IM (4:08.90) also at the Big West Champs…Earned Academic All-Conference.
2023-24 (SOPHOMORE): Focused on 200 fly and individual medley events…Placed Top 5 in two dual meets events…Earned C-finals appearances at MPSF Championships in 200 fly and 400 IM, placing 18th in both events…200 fly time (1:57.78) at Conference was a personal best…Swam season-best times in 400 IM (4:07.72) and 200 IM (1:56.68) at MPSFs.
PRIOR TO CSUB: Started out at California Baptist, but transferred to CSUB midway through the year.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2022 graduate of Liberty High School in Bakersfield, Calif….Coached by Marc Urmston…California State Qualifier…Captained team last two seasons…Named Kern County Swimmer of the Year twice…In 2022, broke LHS records in the 200 IM, 100 breast, and 500 free…Earned three league titles in the 500 free and 200 IM, qualifying for the State meet n the 200 IM as a senior…Maintained a 4.0 GPA all four years.
PERSONAL: A psychology major who plans to pursue a master's degree in Student Affairs and continue to work with student-athletes in some capacity…Has six siblings and all of them swim…Older sister, Stanzi McGowan, who was an All-American for Tennessee and Olympic Trials Qualifier...Comes from a family of 13 people...Working as an Athletics Compliance Undergraduate Assistant.
