Biography
2017-18 (SENIOR): Posted fastest time in the 100 freestyle (45.34) at the end of the season championships…hit right on his personal best times at the WAC Championships in the 50 (20.97) & 200 freestyle (1:40.21)…won the 200 freestyle (1:43.66) in dual meet with Fresno Pacific…swam third leg of the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay at WAC Championships, helping earn the `Runners the fastest times of the season in those events.
2016-17 (JUNIOR): Lowered personal best in 100 free (45.78) in 19th-place finish in finals at WAC Championships…placed 15th in 200 free finals, but posted PR time of 1:40.21 in prelims…finished 25th in 50 free prelims with new PR of 20.97…swam season-best 100 fly time (53.06) during USC dual…swam season-best 4:52.73 in 500 free at Malibu Invite…at WAC meet, helped 200 free (1:22.11) and 400 free (2:59.23), 200 medley (1:30.08), and 400 medley (3:18.56) relay teams post fastest times of season…at A3 Performance Invite, helped 800 free relay team post fastest time of season (6:51.87).
2015-16 (SOPHOMORE): Member of 200 free relay team that reset CSUB record by half of a second (1:20.42) at WAC Championships…anchored 800 free relay team that posted third-best time (6:32.05) in CSUB history at WAC meet…posted personal-best 1:40.95 in 200 free prelims at WAC meet, finished 18th in finals…reset PR in 50 free (21.07) in prelims at WAC meet to finish 30th…swam season-best in 100 free (46.28) in 27th-place finish in WAC prelims…swam 500 free in 4:49.39 to finish 38th in A3 Performance Invite prelims.
2014-15 (FRESHMAN): Impressed in debut season, finishing Top-3 four times for the ‘Runners…made the finals at WAC Championships in two events: 100 and 200 free…finished 21st in 100 free with season-low time of 46.10 and 20th in 200 free with time of 1:42.09…collegiate-best time of 1:41.71 came in preliminary of WAC meet…also posted season-best time in 50 free in prelims at WAC meet (21.30) but did not advance to finals…competed in 100 fly twice, posting season-low time in Seattle duel at 54.76.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Edison High School...coach was Travis Dyer...was named Team MVP for the Tigers who swam in the CMAC.
PERSONAL: Born July 17, 1996...son of Ken and Rachel Cobarrubias...a business administration major.
