Michelle Garner

Michelle Garner enters her 4th season as an assistant coach for the CSU Bakersfield men's and women's swimming teams in fall of 2017. Garner trains the men's and women's distance group for the Roadrunners.

Starting in summer of 2016, Garner took over as Head Coach for Roadrunner Aquatics. She also assisted Director of Swimming Chris Hansen with coaching Michaela Paige, Dylana Milobar, and Greg Lee during the 2015-16 season. Paige was an individual WAC Champion while Milobar and Paige both were part of WAC titles in the relays. In 2017 coached Owen van Krimpen to 2 WAC finals helped make his US National Cuts. She also coached Sabrina Zavala to top 8 spot at the WAC.

Garner swam backstroke, freestyle, and IM at Ventura College from 2006-08 where she was a two time All-American. Garner transferred to CSUB and swam for the ‘Runners from 2009-11. Garner brings four years of age group coaching experience to Bakersfield, while being a member of the Roadrunner Aquatic staff.

Garner is a native of Valencia, Calif.
