Gray Tedder

Gray Tedder enters his fourth season with the CSU Bakersfield men’s and women’s swimming programs in fall of 2016. After two seasons as an assistant coach, Tedder was promoted to Head Assistant Coach before in summer of 2016. His new duties will include overseeing the recruiting program for the Roadrunners, the men's academic calendar, the other assistants, and all administration. Tedder will also begin coaching the sprint and mid distance freestylers this season.

Already having coached the CSUB female sprinters to an extremely successful first two seasons, Tedder will add the men's sprint group to his responsibilities. In 2015, he coached CSUB's Kelsey Lange win the 100 and 200 freestyle titles as the 2015 WAC Championships. Lange added three titles as part of the CSUB relays in 2016 and was a WAC finalist in the 50, 100, and 200 free. Tedder also coached Chrisy Vo, who joined Lange on the 400 free relay squad that won the WAC title. In 2017, he coached Morgan King to a WAC finalist in the 100 fly. 

Tedder swam sprint freestyle for the University of South Carolina from 2007-2011, where he studied economics. He previously coached for Sharks Aquatic Club in North Carolina, and Carolina Aquatics in South Carolina. Besides being an assistant coach for CSUB, Tedder is the Director of Roadrunner Aquatics.

Tedder is a native of Shelby, N.C.
