Biography
2005 – CSUB
After missing several matches early in the season for medical reasons (as well as missing the end of her freshman campaign), Sarah Norman shook off the rust and became a key contributor in Bakersfield’s run to the NCAA Tourna-ment…played primarily on the right side in 2005…reached double figures in kills three times, including a career–high 15 in a win at Sonoma State on Sept. 9…hit .818 (9–0–11) in a Sept. 3 sweep of St. Martin’s…career–high six total blocks (including five assists) came in the regular season finale vs. Chico State on Nov. 12.
2004 – UC Irvine
Sarah spent her freshman season at UC Irvine…racked up 70 kills in 59 games while helping the Anteaters earn an NCAA Tournament bid in 2004…season–high seven kills came in a win over UC Riverside…season–high five blocks came in a three–game sweep of Yale…posted her personal best of five digs on three occasions.
High School
Sarah is a product of state power Stockdale High School, where she was named one of the 50 top prospects in the nation by Student Sports Magazine in 2004 after leading the Mustangs to a CIF Central Section title…was an all–state selection as a senior in 2003…two time Bakersfield Californian all–area selection…named Stockdale’s Female Athlete of the Year and was a finalist for the Jim Tyack Award (top female athlete in Kern County) as a senior…set Stockdale records for most kills in one season (338), most aces in one season (81), most kills in one match (22) and most aces in one match (12)…was a three–time All– Southwest Yosemite League selection for the Mustangs…also was a four–time letterwinner in basketball, twice earning All–SWYL honors…led her Jamba 18s club team to an 11th place finish at the 2004 Las Vegas Invitational.
