The Athletics Graduate Student Leaders exist as part of a larger program, through the Office of Student Affairs, to support CSUB's graduate academic program missions. The program is an experiential learning opportunity where one receives exposure to the broad areas that make up the Department of Athletics at CSUB. Graduate Student Leaders learn the various skill sets that may be needed to support the operational needs of a Division I athletics program, including but not limited to Compliance, Development, Marketing and Promotions, Business, Academic Support, and more. Graduate Student Leaders are engaged in industry-focused academic exercises, networking events, fieldtrips, and leadership opportunities.

The academic year appointment offers the full-time enrolled graduate student a flexible work schedule and modest stipend each semester.
