Biography

2011 (R-SOPHOMORE): Increased her role with CSUB by starting in 26 games and playing in 39...finished with a .259 batting average and a .333 slugging percentage...scoreds 10 runs and drove in another four...scored three runs against Kent State on Feb. 13...Had three hits against the University of San Diego...played first and third base and designated hitter while also sometimes pinch hitting...hit first collegiate homerun...one of seven 'Runners named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.37 GPA.

2010 (R-FRESHMAN): Emily Bliss made a second debut of sorts at the collegiate level in 2010, returning from injury to appear in 21 games and make nine starts as a redshirt freshman...got a hit in her first at bat and scored three runs to help CSUB pick up its first win of the season, 9-4, over Kent State (Feb. 13)...that was exactly one year to the day after she was injured in 2009...notched her first extra base hit with a double the following week at San Jose State (Feb. 20)...played primarily at third base and in the outfield as a freshman.

2009 (FRESHMAN): Emily saw her first freshman season cut short when she suffered a season-ending knee injury running the bases against Seattle University (Feb. 13) in just her third appearance of the season...sat out the rest of the season as a medical redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Twice earned All-Mission League honors at Chaminade Prep...also was an All-CIF Div. IV selection for the Eagles...enjoyed her best batting season as a junior when she hit .391 with five doubles while leading Chaminade to its second consecutive CIF Southern Section Div. IV title...was Chaminade's defensive player of the year in 2008...helped lead the U.S. team to a gold medal at the Pan Am Maccabi Games in Buenos Aires in 2007.

PERSONAL: Born on Oct. 2, 1990...Majoring in liberal studies with a concentration in social studies...Career goals are to be a teacher and softball coach...answers to the nickname Em.
