2006: Garth Wara opened up his collegiate career with a solid performance as a freshman…put together an above-.500 record at 11-9 filling in for Christian Arellano at 174…opened his career with an eighth-place finish at the California Open with one of his losses at that tournament coming against teammate Arellano…placed third at the Menlo College Invitational…reached the semifinal of the tournament and defeated Mark D’Ella of Montclair State by a 6-0 decision in the third-place match…went 3-5 in a series of duals in January while Arellano was out…was also the tournament champion at the California Collegiate Invitational with an impressive 12-3 major decision over Cal Poly’s Sean Thayer in the final.

2005: Wara redshirted at CSUB in 2005.

MADERA HS: Wara wrestled on varsity for four years at Madera HS…finished fourth and sixth at the CIF Central Section Championships in 2004 and 2003, respectively…also an all-TCAC conference pick in football.

PERSONAL: Major is physical education and kinesiology…parents are Ken and Belinda Wara.
