2006: Ryan Bergman continued to progress in the CSUB wrestling program as a sophomore…had a record of 5-7 while splitting time at 197 with teammate Colton Nichols…opened his season late at the Menlo College Invitational but took third in the tournament…only loss came against Roozbeh Banihashemi of Simon Fraser by a 6-5 decision…Banihashemi was the eventual tournament champion…continued his year going 2-4 in duals…final competition of the season came at the California Collegiate Invitational where he was the tournament champion…defeated Fresno State’s Miguel Rodriguez in the final to earn the tournament title.

2005: Bergman was 3-9 in dual meets with one pin for the Roadrunners in 2005…picked up his first collegiate win and pin against Tom Frankle of Cal State Fullerton at the Fullerton Open…earned his first dual victory with a 7-6 win over Ben Blessing of Portland State.

ROCKLIN HS: Bergman was named Rocklin HS’s Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2003…was ranked in the top 10 in California for his weight during his senior year…a member of Rocklin’s two-time Sac-Joaquin Section championship teams, while the Thunder won the Sierra Foothill League once while Bergman attended…also a quality offensive lineman in football, Bergman was named first-team all-city and All-Sierra Foothill League for his duties at offensive guard.
