2006-07: Zach Benson has season-best times of 4:40.09 in the 500 free, 9:57.14 in the 1000 free, 15:59.46 in the 1650 free and 2:07.01 in the 200 fly.
SIERRA COLLEGE: Benson was a standout swimmer at Sierra College for two years...as a freshman at the California State Junior College Championships he placed fourth in the 1650 free and sixth in the 500 free...as a sophomore he improved those times, finishing second in the state in the 1650 free and fourth in the 500 free.
PERSONAL: Benson is a communications major at CSUB...also earning a minor in psychology...parents are Dawn and Andy Benson.
