2017-18 (SENIOR): Swam in the WAC finals in the 100 back (15th - 51.21), 200 back (12th - 1:49.31) and 400 IM (10th - 4:00.86)...set new personal records in the 100 back (50.70), 200 back (1:48.27), 200 fly (1:56.41) and 200 IM (1:52.72) over the course of the season...won the 200 back in a dual meets against UC San Diego and UC Santa Cruz…recorded 19 top-five finishes.  

2016-17 (JUNIOR): Swam in finals of 100 back (17th), 200 back (13th), and 400 IM (15th) at WAC Championships…reset personal bests in 100 back (51.02), 200 back (1:48.78), and 400 IM (3:59.75) as well at WAC finals…lowered 200 IM PR (1:52.79) in WAC prelims…swam 200 fly (1:58.87) during USC dual...posted time of 1:45.50 during Fresno Pacific dual…season-best 500 free time (4:40.45) came at A3 Performance Invite…swam season-best 1000 free (10:00.81) in third-place finish at UNLV dual.
 
2015-16 (SOPHOMORE): Scored points with 15th-place finish in finals of 400 IM at WAC Championships, posting personal best time of 3:59.92…finished 15th in finals of 200 back, but personal best time came in prelims (1:49.34)…lowered 500 free PR in WAC prelims to 4:37.31…season-best 200 IM time (1:58.91) came at Jan. 9 tri meet…posted season-low 52.52 in 100 back at A3 Performance Invite.
 
2014-15 (FRESHMAN): Competed in the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as both individual medleys…posted season-best times in all four events at the WAC Championships…recorded best time of 4:01.70 in preliminary round of 400 IM before finishing 14th in the finals…finished 25th in prelim of 200 IM with best time of 1:55.07… Swam best time of 1:51.09 in prelim of 200 back before he finished 14th in the finals…posted season best time (52.26) in prelim of 100 back.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Southwest High School...coach was Nikie Lopez...helped guide the Eagles to become Imperial Valley League Champions in 2012 and 2013…was named Team MVP as a junior and a senior…won the league title in the 100 back and 200 free as a senior, the 200 IM as a junior, and the 500 free as a sophomore…was awarded the El Centro Education Foundation and Eagles Booster Club Scholarships.
 
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 11, 1995...son of Mario Vasquez and Laura Carapia...a computer engineering major.
