SAN JOSE CITY COLLEGE: Lopez was an all-conference selection in the javelin throw in 2004 at San Jose City College...California Community College State Meet qualifier in 2005 (javelin)...placed fifth with a throw of 178 feet, three inches...top marks at SJCC were 50-2 in the shot put, 137-5 in the discus and 186-2 in the javelin.

GILROY HS: Lopez came to Bakersfield following a standout three-sport prep career at Gilroy High School...two-time All-Tri County League selection in track & field (discus)...three-time Central Coast Section qualifier in the discus throw...two-time CCS qualifier in the shot put...one-time state qualifier in the shot put...also helped the Mustang football team to a pair of CCS playoff appearances...one-time all-league selection...selected to play in the Silicone Valley Youth Football All-Star Classic...also wrestled for Gilroy High.

PERSONAL: Lopez is a psychology major at CSUB...plans to attend graduate school and become a psychological profiler...enjoys hanging out with friends and competitive eating.
