2012-13 (R-JUNIOR): Finished fifth at the Pac-12 Championships at 197 pounds...was second at the San Francisco State U-21 Open at 197 pounds...concluded season 8-23 with two pins.

2011-12 (FRESHMAN): Went 2-2 at the Roadrunner Open to begin season...lost opening dual appearance at Menlo...lost at the Oregon State dual...was 0-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions...finished sixth at the Pac-12 Championships at heavyweight...ended season with a 2-15 record.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of Liberty High School...coach was John Sizemore...earned first team All-Southwest League and Bakersfield Californian All-Area honors during prep career...qualified for the CIF State Tournament as a senior...team won league title during time on the varsity mats.

PERSONAL: Born Jan. 17, 1993...son of Luis and Rosa Madera....a biochemistry major.
