Biography

2012 (R-JUNIOR): Started all 52 games for the ‘Runners as not only a reliable and flashy glove in center field, but as a catalyst in the beginning of the order as well…Finished the season with the second-highest batting average on the team at .358…King totaled 64 hits, scored a team-high 26 runs (tied with Karissa Veiga), drove in 11 runs, smacked four doubles and two homers, six walks and posted a .413 slugging percentage with a .378 on-base percentage…Registered 104 putouts in center field…Led the team with eight stolen bases (on 11 attempts)…Hit the game-winning home run against Weber State on Feb. 11 in a game where she went 3-for-4…Posted five three-hit games on the season and totaled 18 multi-hit games…Was named to the PCSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll after posting a 3.58 GPA.

2011 (R-SOPHOMORE): Made an impact for the Roadrunners right away as a center fielder as she played in 39 games, starting 29 of those....hit .338 in 74 at bats with 25 hits, 17 runs scored, three doubles, one triple and six RBI...recorded three hits, including a double, and two RBI against Utah State...one of seven 'Runners named to the PCSC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.37 GPA.

2010 (R-FRESHMAN UNLV):
Laura King got her feet wet at the collegiate level by appearing in 37 games, mostly as a pinch runner...played in six games as a designated player and 31 as a pinch hitter/pinch runner...had the most appearance of all the Rebel bench players in 2010...scored 15 runs...got her first career hit in her first career at bat in her first career start against CSUB at the Sportco Kickoff Classic in Las Vegas (Feb. 10).


2009 (FRESHMAN UNLV)
: Sat out the season as a redshirt at UNLV.


HIGH SCHOOL:
Prepped at Camarillo High School...earned All-Pacific View League honors twice, including her senior season when she hit .370...hit .482 in 21 games as a junior...named Camarillo's best outfielder for 2008...also lettered in soccer and helped the Scorpions earn the PVL title in 2006.


PERSONAL:
Born on Sept. 28, 1990...Majoring in marketing and management...hopes to work for a professional sports team one day...had the privilege of playing with her (then) freshman sister Jenna while a senior at Camarillo High School.
