Biography
2010-11 (R-SOPHOMORE): Took second place at the MPSF Championships in the 100 free with a personal best 44.82 (Feb. 26)…tied his personal best with a 21.52 mark in Stockton (Pacific and Seattle, Nov. 6, 10)…also registered second place finishes in the 100 free events against UC San Diego (Jan. 15, 11) and Cal Baptist (Dec. 18, 10)…assisted the “A” relay to a first place finish at the Mountain Pacific championships with an NCAA “B” cut time of 3:00.13 time (Feb. 26).
2009-10 (R-FRESHMAN): Capped his freshman year by swimming a personal best 1:40.81 in the 200 free, winning the consolation finals and placing ninth overall at the Conference USA Championships…also swam a 45.12 in the 100 free at the C-USA Championships…both his 100 and 200 free times were the squad’s fastest marks in 2010…other top time for the sprint freestyle swimmer was 21.52 in the 50 free.
2008-09 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt at CSUB.
HIGH SCHOOL: Hails from Bakersfield’s Liberty High School where he competed as a sprint freestyle swimmer...was named the Patriots’ MVP his freshman season...earned the Coaches Award as a senior...placed third in the 50 free at the Central Section Championship meet with a personal-best time of 21.62...placed second in the 100 free in a personal-best 47.53...also helped the Patriots to third place finishes in the 200 and 400 free relays...named a first team all-area selection by the Bakersfield Californian.
PERSONAL: Born Mar. 8, 1990...son of Brian and Diane Silvius...a computer science major.
