Biography
2010-11 (JUNIOR): Set a personal best, and a school top-five time, in the 100 freestyle with a 44.73 time at the MPSF championships (Feb. 26, third place)…competed in the 50, 100, 200, and 500 freestyle events...a member of the 200 medley “A” relay team that had a school record and NCAA “B” cut time of 1:29.33 against Pacific and Seattle on Nov. 6…competed in a total of 14 events in which he took first place (eight as a member of a relay team).
2008-10 (FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORE): A member of the men’s swim and water polo teams at Merced College…an eight-time California Community College All-American…served as 2010 team captain…a two-time swim team MVP…is the school record holder in the 50 free (20.96) and 100 free (45.99)…also a member of the school-record holding 400 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams…team earned the Bay Valley Conference title in 2009 and 2010…team finished seventh at the state meet in 2010.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Fresno High School...coach was Scott Braun...top times of 23.3 in the 50 free and 53.8 in the 100 free came during his senior season (2008)…also played water polo for the Warriors…first team All-North Yosemite League selection for water polo in 2007.
PERSONAL: Born July 8, 1990...son of Bill and Kelly Pipes...a history major.
