Biography

 

2010: Went 3-6 in limited action...dropped his first two matches of the season, but bounced back to go 2-1 at the Menlo Open.

2009: Barnhart went 15-19 as a sophomore, including a perfect 5-0 in matches decided by fall...placed third at the Menlo Invitational, claiming three of his four wins by fall...struggled as the season ended, dropping his final seven bouts, including a pair in the 157-pound bracket at the Pac-10 Championships...earned Pac-10 All-Academic second team honors.

2008: Barnhart won the first five matches of his collegiate career on his way to an 11-8 record.

2007: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

BARSTOW HS: Barnhart came to CSUB after competing at Barstow High School...was 50-6 as a senior and won five tournaments...became the first wrestler from Barstow High School to earn a scholarship to an NCAA Division I program...had a 2-2 record at the 2006 CIF State Championships...a two-time CIF Southern Section place winner...was his team's MVP...earned All-Desert Sky League honors three times...also competed in baseball and track and field at Barstow HS.

PERSONAL: A physical education and kinesiology major...was born in Ankara, Turkey...parents are Ron and Donna Barnhart.
