Kaneko finished her debut round as a Roadrunner with a score 75 (+3), just one stroke off from tying teammate Anna Kehrer’s record set last year of 74 (+2), also at the Wolverine Invitational. After 54-holes, the Redlands transfer finished just two strokes behind teammate Sarah Mutai who has the best `Runner debut 54-hole score, finishing with a score of 227 (+11).
As a team, this performance was CSUB’s second-best finish in a 54-hole tournament finishing with a score of 884 (+20). Last year at the Wolverine Invitational the team finished with a score of 899 (+35), the `Runners saw a 15-stroke improvement this time around.
The Roadrunners will be back in action Sept. 22-23 at the Kalispel Invitational in Spokane, Washington, hosted by Eastern Washington.
