• Bakersfield is currently ranked first in the Big West and 29th in the country for offensive rebounds per game (13.63)
• CSUB’s three-point percentage (38.9) is good for 19th in the country and first in conference
  • Meanwhile their three-point percentage defense (30.5) is 84th in the nation and first in the conference

CSUB 75, UC Davis 64

• The Roadrunners opened the new year at home hosting the Aggies
  • In their last match up CSUB beat UCD at home
• CJ Hardy led the way for the `Runners with 20 points (4-11 FG, 11-15 FT, 2-2 3FG)
• Four other Roadrunners also scored in double figures
  • Marvin McGhee III (14 PTS), Jemel Jones (13 PTS), Corey Stephenson (12 PTS), and Fidelis Okereke (10 PTS)
• Stephenson had 13 rebounds in addition to his 12 points, this is his first double-double dating back to Jan. 18th versus UC Riverside
• The Roadrunners got to the line 33 times, five times more than Davis
• Bakersfield also held UCD to a three-point field goal percentage of 19% (4-21)

CSUB 80, Long Beach State 65

• The Roadrunners capped their week going 2-0 with another win over Long Beach State
• Jemel Jones scored 25 points with three other `Runners finishing in double figures
  • CJ Hardy (12 PTS), Fidelis Okereke (10 PTS), and Corey Stephenson (10 PTS)
• Stephenson once again finished with a double-double, bringing down 11 rebounds with his 10 points
• The CSUB bigs made their mark on this game
  • Okereke grabbing seven boards and going 6-7 from the free throw line, also adding two assists, two blocks and, two steals to his final stat line
  • Tom Mark has made an immediate impact since his return from injury. Mark scored six and reeled in 10 rebounds along with three assists, a block, and two steals. Of his 10 rebounds, seven came on the offensive end
• Bakersfield controlled the boards outrebounding LBSU 43-20
  • 19 of the CSUB rebounds led to 14 second chance points
• The Roadrunners also capitalized on Long Beach turnovers, scoring 17 points

• The Cal State Bakersfield women’s basketball team kicked off conference play this week, taking on UC Davis and Long Beach State in a pair of road games. 
• As the team works to find their rhythm in Big West competition, individual performances continue to stand out. 
• Ary Dizon remains a dominant presence on both ends of the floor, ranking among the nation’s best in blocks and blocks per game.
  • Dizon is currently ranked 14th nationally, averaging 2.29 blocks per game, and is 16th in total blocks with 32.
• Meanwhile, Alli Dioli continues to lead the Roadrunners from beyond the arc, ranking 6th in the Big West with an average of 1.85 three-pointers per game.

CSUB 37, UC Davis 81

• Bakersfield started conference play with a tough road matchup against UC Davis.
• The Aggies came out firing in the first quarter, building a commanding 22-4 lead.
• The Roadrunners struggled offensively, and despite a more competitive effort in the second and third quarters, they couldn’t close the gap.
• Bakersfield scored 13 points in both the second and third frames, but UC Davis’ early dominance proved too much to overcome.
• In the third quarter, Bakersfield did show some fight, going on a 9-point scoring run to briefly gain momentum.
• Dizon was the top scorer for the Roadrunners, finishing with 9 points and 3 rebounds. The bench also provided a spark, contributing a total of 20 points, underscoring the team’s depth and resilience despite the tough start.

CSUB 43, Long Beach State 58

• Bakersfield concluded the weekend with a matchup against Long Beach State at the Pyramid.
• The Roadrunners got off to a stronger start than their earlier contest, putting up 21 points in the first half.
• However, Long Beach State’s defense and scoring depth helped them maintain control throughout the game.
• Caitie Gingras, making her first start of the season, was a standout performer. She led the team in scoring with 12 points and also contributed 5 rebounds, making an immediate impact on both ends of the floor.
• Dizon continued to lead by example, finishing with 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

• The Cal State Bakersfield swim and dive teams closed out its first regular season in The Big West with a pair of conference road duals.
  • The Big West added swim & dive as a sponsored sport just this year as the Roadrunners previously competed in the MPSF, the WAC, and Conference USA.
• The `Runners will now move into postseason competition with the Big West Championships set for Feb. 12-15, in Houston.
  • Bakersfield's divers will tackle the CBU Diving Invite, Jan. 9-11, rounding out their regular season action.

CSUB vs. Cal Poly

• CSUB and Cal Poly faced off in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on Saturday, Jan. 4.
• The `Runner women edged their Mustang counterparts 154-138 as Bakersfield picked up its third-straight dual victory over Cal Poly.
• The Cal Poly men snuck past the `Runners with a 157-137 win.
• Per usual, the CSUB veterans led the way:
  • Senior Jessica Franco tallied four victories, winning the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle events as well as leading the CSUB 400 free relay time to a win
  • Sophomore Josiane Hill also took four wins on Saturday, claiming first place in the 50 Free, 100 and 200 Back, and helping CSUB win the 200 medley relay
  • Danielle Albright joined Hill in the relay victory while adding individual wins in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM.
  • Junior Arthur Amaral Schneider joined the four-win club: 100, 200, and 500 Free, 400 free relay
  • Fellow junior Vili Sivec dominated for four victories as well: 100 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 400 free relay
