BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Roadrunners get their first win in conference play over the UC Davis Aggies with 3-0 victory.
Â
Kirsten Martinez pitched a solid five innings in the showdown with the Aggies, giving up four hits, only one going for extra bases, and striking out two. In the third inning, CSUB broke up the 0-0 tie with a SAC fly from Karissa Munsey, plating Maya Molina-Villarreal.
Â
CSUB added two more runs to their lead in the top of the fourth inning. Molina-Villarreal drove in Logan-Ray Gaspar and Kaia Johnson after they got on base with a pair of singles. Gaspar dropped a soft line drive into shallow center, and Johnson reached base on a perfectly placed but on the third base line.
Â
Anisa Reynolds came in to relieve Martinez in the sixth inning and held UCD scoreless through the last two innings and preserved the Roadrunner shutout.
Â
The Roadrunners are back home on April 13-14 to take on the Cal Poly Mustangs for a three game series. Get your tickets today at GoRunners.com/tickets!
