Dominant Victories Push CSUB Past Single-Season Record

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Coming into Friday's pair of matches, the Cal State Bakersfield beach volleyball team was already tied for its own single-season record with 11 wins. The Roadrunners breezed past that mark, not dropping a single set all day on the way to a pair of 5-0 victories and a new record with 13 wins on the season thus far.

  • Senior Hana Makonova picked up two wins and now has 42 on her career, just one away from CSUB's all-time record of 43, held by Sydney Haynes.
  • Fellow senior Hayley McCluskey also continues to climb Bakersfield's all-time wins list. She moved past Mariah Alvidrez for fourth with 36 career victories.
  • Isabella Almeida and McCluskey dominated their counterparts from Saint Katherine, taking the second set by an astounding score of 21-2.
  • Six different `Runners have 14 wins on the season thus far. Each of them are hot on the trail of CSUB's all-time single-season win total by an individual (17, Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat, 2022).
