CSUB Beach Volleyball Sets Out for Pair of Matches

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Coming off a strong performance at the Bigger West Invitational, the CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball team is preparing for the final stretch of the regular season. The Roadrunners are headed to Northridge, Calif. for a pair of neutral-site clashes on Friday, Mar. 31.

"The progress of the team is really nice to see. We have been implementing some new features in our system and working on getting pretty consistent in every aspect of the game, and the performance is really showing that progress. The fact that we had an entire fall training season with a big part of the group is super important to get that consistency, and all the work is paying off right now.
"On top of that we have developed a strong culture with values tailored to the beach program which makes a total difference. I'm very excited for the remaining of this season and for the future of the program."
"We've been pointing out to the girls that we have not accomplished anything yet. Yes, we are doing a great job, but we have to keep working super hard to get as far as we can, which is the main goal of this season. Practices have been super competitive and the group has shown a lot of maturity. We can't wait to get back in action this Friday and continue to grow with a lot of humility and hard work."

Notables

Posting a 3-3 record at the Bigger West Invitational last weekend, the `Runners capped off a strong set of results with a win over Cal Poly, the three-time defending Big West Champions.
With an 11-6 record on the season, Benatti's squad has tied the school record for wins in a season with seven matches remaining in the regular season.
The middle of Bakersfield's five-pair lineup has posted the most consistent results, with all three pairings owning a 12-5 record on the year.
As the 2s, Emma Erteltova and Sophia Hladyniuk have a 12-3 record so far.
CSUB will be playing Saint Katherine for the first time this season. The `Runners faced San Francisco two weeks ago at the SJSU Invitational, earning a 5-0 sweep over the Dons.
