`Runners Battle but Fall to UC Davis

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Opening up the Bigger West Invitational on Friday, the Cal State Bakersfield beach volleyball team dropped a narrow result against Big West foe UC Davis. The Roadrunners fell in the 4-1 decision, but CSUB's pairings contested close sets across the board.

Notables

Emma Bubelis and Alanna Shields improved to 9-3 on the season as CSUB's No. 4 pair, picking up the lone win of the day. The `Runner duo downed their UC Davis counterparts in straight sets.
CSUB's 3s, Isabella Almeida and Hayley McCluskey, jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but their Aggie foes mounted a comeback, winning in the second and third sets.
