`Runners Fall to CBU on Senior Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A back-and-forth match that featured six lead changes went the way of the visiting Lancers on Sunday as Cal State Bakersfield wrestling dropped a 23-17 dual against California Baptist.

Notables

Eddie Flores got the match started with a big win at 125 pounds. The Bakersfield senior got a huge reversal on Devin Garcia and rolled straight into four back points to seal the 9-3 decision. The video clip of Flores' slick move was shared by NCAA Wrestling and already had more than 20,000 views before the match was even over.
Angelo Martinoni (141) dominated Christian Nunez on the way to a 16-0 tech fall at the end of the second period.
Josh Brown (149) battled well but narrowly dropped a 9-6 decision at the very end of the third period.
Brock Rogers came out on top of Nolan Miller-Johnston with a 9-6 decision, putting CSUB ahead of CBU, 11-8, as the two teams went to intermission.
Albert Urias (174) put Bakersfield ahead bu one point with a 3-1 decision over Louis Rojas, but CBU followed that up with a major decision and a pin to clinch the match.
Paul Sharp overcame an early deficit to pick up a 6-2 decision, closing out the match with a victory.
