Autumn D'Arcy Named CSCAA Academic All-American

Bakersfield, Calif. – California State University, Bakersfield student-athlete Autumn D'Arcy has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Academic All-American, putting a final bow on one of the most celebrated individual seasons of competition in Roadrunner history. The award recognizes student-athletes who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or better and qualified for their respective NCAA Championship.

"This is just one more feather in the cap for Autumn," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "She closes a fantastic career the same way she started, as a true student-athlete, committed to success in both the classroom and in competition. No one deserves this honor more."

D'Arcy was named the 2022 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Swimmer of the Year, after winning conference championships in the 100 and 200 Butterfly events and finishing second in the 200 Individual Medley. She competed in all three events at the NCAA Championship meet, becoming the first female Roadrunner in history to reach nationals at the Division I level.

She was the Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year in 2020, and finishes her Bakersfield career with nine conference titles, a program-best 65 career wins and school records in seven events. D'Arcy represented CSUB at the 2020 US Olympic Trials and the 2021 Toyota US Open, earning a silver medal in the latter, among many other high-level competitions.

In the classroom, D'Arcy accumulated a cumulative 3.81 grade point average as an elementary education and liberal studies major, including a perfect 4.00 in each semester of her senior year.

A native of Redlands, Calif., D'Arcy graduated from CSUB in the spring of 2022 and will begin her career as a teacher next fall.
