Rohlfing's Run Ends at Cliff Keen Invitational

Bakersfield, Calif. – Russell Rohlfing's run deep into the consolation bracket at the 2019 Cliff Keen Invitational came to an end in the second round of eight on Saturday morning. An early deficit proved too much to overcome and the redshirt senior dropped a 6-2 decision to #10 Brock Zacherl of Clarion.

Rohlfing fell behind 6-0 midway through first period, with all the points coming in one quick sequence after he lost his balance and was taken to the mat. Rohlfing got on the board with a quick escape to lead off the second period and eventually pulled to within four points, but he was unable to close the gap any further despite wrestling with the advantage for much of the third period.

Russell's loss also eliminated Bakersfield from the team competition. The `Runners finished the tournament in 25^th-Place with 12.5 team points.

CSUB will return to action on New Year's Day at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, Tenn.
