`Runners Set For Tough Meet At Cal Baptist

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men's swimming and diving team will look to bounce back Saturday, Nov. 4, with a victory on the road at Cal Baptist.

"Cal Baptist is always touch and go for us," Chris Hansen said, CSUB's Director of men's swimming and diving said.  "Our teams are so similar, every year is different.  We have been hit with some sickness this week that we have to overcome.  If we can do that, this could be a close meet.  Cal Baptist has a tough freestyle group but we have the advantage in the strokes."

The `Runners fell to Hawaii 157.5-135.5, but CSUB had some quality performances against a national powerhouse and that will definitely give CSUB some momentum heading into the meet against Cal Baptist.

"Diving will also play a huge part in our outcome," Hansen added.  "This is our last meet of the semester.  It would be great to end on a win and then concentrate on the UNLV Invite and US Nationals."

The `Runners earned a hard fought victory against the Lancers at Hillman Aquatic Center last year 156-138, but this year, CSUB heads to Riverside looking for a similar result.
