BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball coach Olivia Simko has announced the signing of Ashley Prater to a National Letter of Intent to continue her playing career with the Roadrunners.
Prater is a veteran of the RPM beach volleyball club. She was a member of the indoor volleyball team at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Ariz. As a senior, Prater recorded 363 kills for Mountain Ridge team. In the classroom, Prater maintained a 4.3 grade point average.
“We are very excited to have Ashley join our team,” Simko said. “She is a solid player with a ton of beach experience. She comes from a great beach club and has been working very hard to improve herself so she can make an immediate impact on the program.”
The Roadrunners (3-12) will wrap up the regular season on Friday when CSUB travels to Cal Poly for a 2 p.m. start. The Mustangs (5-9) defeated the 'Runners 4-1 Mar. 11 in Bakersfield. The Roadrunners will take part in the first Big West Beach Volleyball Tournament Apr. 29-30 in Huntington Beach.
