STOCKTON, Calif.-- Senior Travis Millwee put together his CSU Bakersfield career-best 54-hole tournament score after shooting a two-over 73 to close the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Saturday. The Roadrunner men's golf team finished 16th of 16 teams behind Millwee's strong play.
“It didn't quite finish how we wanted to today,” said Meggan Bunker, Head Coach of the men's golf team for CSUB. “We left plenty of shots out on the golf course. We know what we need to work on, and we are ready to gear towards our spring season.”
Millwee, a transfer who came to CSUB from Bakersfield College, finished the tournament with a three-round score of 219 (76-70-73, +6). His performance was good enough to tie the senior for 12th overall in the 88-man field. Millwee tied for first on the tournament with an average score of 2.92 on par 3 holes.
While Millwee was the only Roadrunner to post a career-best tournament score this weekend, Teo Chiesa shot a season-best 54-hole score of 226 (+13). The sophomore from Hughson, Calif. closed his tournament with a CSUB second-best 75 (+4) to finish second for the 'Runners and tied for 48th overall. Chiesa also tied for the tournament lead with 41 holes parred.
As a team, the 'Runners posted their second best round of the tournament on Saturday with a four-man total of 307 (+23) while the squad's 54-hole total came to 923 (318-298-307, +71). For full results from this weekend's tournament, open the linked pdf.
