Bakersfield Travels To Riverside

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The Bakersfield softball team heads to UC Riverside for the Amy S. Harrison Tournament this weekend.

The Roadrunners open the tournament Thursday at 11:30 a.m. against Loyola Marymount. On Saturday, the 'Runners play the host Highlanders at 2 p.m. Bakersfield concludes the tournament on Sunday. CSUB plays LMU at 9 a.m. before playing UCR at 2 p.m.

The Runners and the Highlanders have played 90 times after last week's matchup at the Fresno State Kickoff Classic. CSUB leads the all-time series 67-22-1. The Highlanders are 3-6 after going 3-2 last week at the Fresno State Kickoff Classic. Dionne Anderson leads UCR with a .444 batting average, .559 on-base percentage, and a .630 slugging percentage. She is 6-for-7 in stolen base attempts.

Bakersfield and Loyola Marymount are former members of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference. The Lions lead the all-time series 15-12. Loyola Marymount is 0-5 entering the weekend. Meghan Harman is the team's leading hitting (.417). Sophomore pitcher Sydney Gouvela is 0-1 with a 2.33 to lead the Lions' hurlers.
