DES MOINES, Iowa--Both Tyler Iwamura (R-Sr., San Diego, Calif., Santa Fe Christian HS) and Bryce Hammond (R-Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) lost in the second round of the consolation bracket at the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

For the third year in a row Hofstra's Steve Bonnano defeated Iwamura at the NCAA Championships. Bonnano eliminated Iwamura from the tournament by defeated the Pac-12 champ 7-5.

Hammond lost to John-Martin Cannon of Buffalo in triple overtime at 174. The match was tied 1-1 after regulation with each man earning an escape. After a scoreless one minute of OT, Cannon recorded a takedown in the second OT. Hammond had 30 seconds in the third OT to tie the match, but he could only earn one-point (via an escape) and fell to 34-10 on the season.
