CSUB Defeats UC Santa Cruz 183-101 In Women?s Swim Dual

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield won 15-of-16 women's swimming and diving events as the Roadrunners defeated UC Santa Cruz 183-101 in a dual Saturday afternoon at the Hillman Aquatics Center.

“We really stepped up to grab the win today,” said CSU Bakersfield Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. “I think we won every event which is what we need to do without having depth. We are continuing to get faster and faster.”

Lily Donahue (Jr., Portland, Ore., Boise State) took home first place honors in the 100 back (1:00.12), 200 back (2:10.40), and 200 butterfly (2:13.16).

Taylor Hanson (So., Modesto, Calif., Johansen HS) earned victories in the 100 free (:53.68), 200 free (1:55.01), and 200 IM (2:11.27).

Isabell Nystrom (Sr., Stockholm, Sweden, Limestone College) was victorius in the 500 freestyle (5:15.57), 1000 freestyle (10:53.28)

Rachel McCall (Jr., Calgary, Alberta, National Sport School) won the 50 free (:24.37) and the 100 breaststroke (1:06.46).

Jordan Reed (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) won both the 1m diving (227.85) and 3m diving events (242.75).

Madison Goodvin (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) won the 200 breaststroke (2:31.95).

In relay competition, the 200 free squad of McCall, Nystrom, Chelsea Ankeny (Sr., Ontario, Calif., Riverside CC), and Sara Brady (Sr., Tehachapi, Calif., Bakersfield College) won the race in a time of 1:44.61. The 200 medley of Donohue, Goodvin, McCall, and Hanson were the winners when they came home with a 1:50.49 performance.

The Roadrunners are next up at the Arena Invitational Nov. 17-19 in Long Beach.
