Rachel McCall Paces CSUB Women's Swimming

STOCKTON, Calif. — The CSUB women's swimming team produced 30 season-best performances on Saturday as they dropped a dual meet to Loyola Marymount University 159 -103, Seattle University 151 – 111, and University of the Pacific 170-89, in Stockton, Calif.

Head Coach Pat Skehan was pleased with the improvement her swimmers made.

“30 season-bests out of 14 events is not bad,” said Skehan. “Rachel McCall and our distance swimmers, Isabell Nystrom and Chelsea Ankeny, swam well for us today.”

Junior Rachel McCall highlighted the 'Runners performances on the day as she won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.22, tied for first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.57 and came in third in the 100 freestyle (53.25).

Distant swimmers Isabell Nystrom (10:39.91) and Chelsea Ankeny (10:49.63) turned in strong performances in the 1000 freestyle and also swam well in the 500 freestyle with times of 5:15.47 and 5:15.83, respectively.

Sophomore Louise Westergren, senior Brooke Penney, senior Bonny Bordwell and McCall capped of the day by winning the 400 freestyle relay with an impressive time of 3:36.95.

CSUB gets a short break before their next competition, as they travel to Long Beach, Calif. to compete in the Triton Classic, November 18 -20.
