SAN DIEGO — Senior diver Victoria Kreutz scored season best marks in the one and three meter spring board diving events Saturday, leading the CSUB women's swimming and diving team against San Diego State. The Aztecs, ranked No. 41 in the latest CollegeSwimming.com national poll, won the dual 123-105.
“Victoria dove really, really well today,” said Head Coach Pat Skehan. “She did well on both boards, was consistent and won solidly.”
Kreutz totalled 267.90 points in six dives off the one-meter board and 284.80 in six dives off the three-meter board.
On the swimming side, the Roadrunners also got a handful of solid performances. Stephanie Donnelly placed second in the 200 back in 2:13.38. Michelle Kroll was fourth in the event in 2:16.54. Brooke Penney placed third in the 50 free in 25.61.
Freshman Olivia Ramos had a strong day in the distance free events, scoring a season best 11:18.95 in the 1,000 free and recording the second fastest time in the 500 free (5:27.65). Rachel Holm scored the second fastest time in the 200 breast (2:29.37) and also had a solid 2:19.78 in the 200 IM.
“We had some really good things happen today against very strong competition,” said Skehan. “We had a lot of nice swims, equal to or better than at the Toshiba Classic. Olivia, Leah (Felber) and Michelle had some big breakthroughs and Steph was solid every time.”
The Roadrunners return to action Dec. 19 in a double dual against Loyola Marymount and Cal Baptist. The squad then returns to the Hillman Aquatics Center on Jan. 2 for a dual against San Jose State.
