Roadrunners Tie For Eighth; Morrison Finishes in Tie for Fifth

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - The CSUB men's golf team shot a combined 289 in the third round of the Bill Cullum Invitational at the Wood Ranch Golf Course in Simi Valley, Calif., on Tuesday. The Roadrunners finished in a tie for eight with Cal state Fullerton and Cal State Northridge. The University of the Pacific won the event by eight strokes over UC Riverside. The Tigers' Alex Johnson took the individual title with a 207.

Junior Kyle Morrison capped his fall season with a third round 70 to grab a share of fifth place (210, –6). Levi Garcia and Daniel Petta tied for 41st overall (224), and Jason Errecart was tied for 58th after an even round of 72 on Tuesday.

“We played much better today,” Head Coach Dave Barber said. “It just makes you think how we would have placed if we had done better in that second round but I am very happy with our team's performance today.”

CSUB's schedule resumes in 2010 with the USD Intercollegiate on Feb. 8–9.
