Christie Hill

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

After enjoying the greatest statistical career in CSUB Softball history, Christie Hill made the move from player to assistant coach in 2007.

Hill capped her remarkable playing career by earning first–team All–America honors as a senior (the third All–America nod of her career) while leading the Roadrunners to the CCAA and NCAA West Region titles.

CSUB’s all–time leading hitter with a .372 career batting average, Hill also finished her collegiate career as the Roadrunners’ leader in at bats (868), hits (323), doubles (65), RBIs (149) and runs (181). All are records that may stand for years.

Hill also owns the CSUB single–season records for at bats (240), hits (90), doubles (20) and home runs (12). Her 12 round trippers in 2006 not only established a school record but would have stood alone as the career record before she joined the program. In addition, her .405 average in 2005 made her one of only six Roadrunners ever to hit .400.

In addition to her offensive prowess, Hill was one of the top pitchers in Roadrunner history. She finished with 78 career wins, 342 strikeouts and a 1.71 ERA. All ranked in career top 10.

After finishing her collegiate career, Hill has enjoyed a successful professional career in Europe playing for Olympia Haarlem in The Netherlands where she has pitched and played middle infield. Last season, she fashioned a 15–7 record while hitting .469 with seven doubles, nine triples and a homer.

Hill, a Delano native and graduate of Delano High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies. She is completing work in the teacher credential program at National University.
