BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Fresh off a strong showing at the AT&T Winter Nationals, CSU Bakersfield's men's and women's swimming and diving teams will get back into the swing of their seasons this Saturday, Dec. 12. The Roadrunners will travel south to Riverside, Calif. to take on Cal Baptist in a dual hosted by the Lancers.

“Cal Baptist is never a team to not take serious,” said CSUB's Director of Swimming Chris Hansen, about the Lancers, an NCAA Division II force in swimming and diving. “They are strong on both sides. Their strong events are our weak events and vice versa. That makes depth a very important factor in this meet.” The CBU men finished 10th at last year's Division II National Championships while the women placed eighth with multiple All-American performers on either side.

The Roadrunner women look primed for a strong second half of the season, according to Hansen: “We are lucky to have some surprises as well as some much-needed depth with Tatum Collatz and Sabrina Zavala coming off a great A3 Invite. As usual, we will be looking for the strengths and leadership that Carlee Burks, Dylana Milobar, and Paola Hernandez bring to the table.”

“The men will have a tougher battle,” said Hansen. “Four of our top scorers are coming off both the A3 Invite and US Nationals. Lovre Soric, Christopher Salcido, Bryce Timonera, and Mihael Vukic will have to put their fatigue aside and race hard. If this entire men's side puts a great meet together, this will be fun to watch.”

The dual will take place tomorrow, Dec. 12, and is set to kick off at noon at the Lancers Aquatics Center. Full results and a recap for both the men and women will be available here by Saturday evening.
